Little Scholars, Big Achievements

Peace Public School, Kottakkal, held a unique convocation on Saturday, celebrating the achievements of 18 young scholars who conducted scientific research in various subjects and published their findings in an academic journal titled “Little Minds, Big Ideas: A Journal of Peace Research.”

The journal, published by the school, stands out with its quality, matching higher-level academic research standards. These student researchers from classes 8, 9, and 10 were guided by academic experts in their respective fields.

“It’s all about how we guide our children. Their potential is immense, and their learning abilities surpass our imagination,” said Principal Jouhar M., who also serves as the chief editor of the journal.

The convocation was inaugurated by K.K. Abid Husain Thangal, MLA, while former Chief Secretary V.P. Joy awarded degrees to the students.

 

Celebrating Young Researchers

Among the notable works, the study on “Species Richness of Butterflies in Kottakkal” by Rehan Shameer K. and Neha Nazar won the Best Synopsis Award.

Other award-winning studies included:

“Relationship Between Perceived Parenting Style and Internet Addiction Among High School Students” by Aman Yousuf K., Neethulal V., and Mohammed Junaid, which won a special award for progressive evaluation.

“The Effectiveness of Precautions in Confronting the Growing Concern of Stray Dogs” by Fayha C.K. and M. Rathi, which also received a special award for progressive evaluation.

Rihan Mohammed K. and Ratheesh Panampatta’s study on “Analysing Climate Change in the Central Malabar Region and Developing an IoT-Based Weather Monitoring System” was awarded Best Research Paper.

Academic Excellence Honoured

Fayha Fathin P.P. of Class 9 received the prestigious School Chairman’s Gold Medal for her research on “Exploring the Factors That Affect Body Image Perception of Teenagers.”

Almas Hospital Group Chairman, Dr. P.A. Kabeer presided over the function, while Kochi Metro Sahodaya President Deepa Chandran served as the  Guest of Honour Malappuram Sahodaya President M. Abdul Nazar distributed the prizes.

K. Mohammed Basheer, former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University, is the chief mentor of the programme.
