National School Science Congress Commences at Peace Public School

A three-day National School Science Congress has commenced at Peace Public School, Puthur, Kottakkal, under the leadership of the school’s science department. The theme of the congress is “Earth Conservation and Sustainable Development through Innovative Technologies.”
The congress was officially inaugurated by Dr. Brajesh Pandey, Executive Director of the Indian National Science Academy. In his keynote address, Dr. Pandey emphasized that scientific knowledge must be derived from its authentic sources and that the younger generation must ensure such knowledge is not misused for destructive purposes.
The event was presided over by Principal Mr. M. Jouhar. Following the inauguration, a panel discussion was held on the topic “Growth and Development of Indian Space Science,” during which Dr. Pandey engaged in a vibrant interaction with students.
Mr. S. Abdul Nasser served as the moderator for the session. Students Muhammad Affan, Jeshin Rosh, Kens Fathima, Mis Funoon, and Fai Shahin actively participated in the discussion.
Another major session focused on “Exploring the Depths of Space Research,” with a presentation by Dr. Sreejith Padinhattiri, Project Scientist of the Aditya-L1 Mission and Assistant Professor at the Manipal Centre for Natural Sciences. Students Isra Anwar, N.P. Fils, Fils Tajuddin, Shesin Rosh, and Aman Yusuf took part in the discussion moderated by Faih Fatheen.
At the “Symposium on Cosmic Wonders”, NASA Media Resource Team Member Nas Gafur and National Award Winner Manoj Kottakkal presented insightful papers.
A total of 75 student delegates from various schools across the state are participating in the event. On Tuesday, the congress will feature interactive sessions with renowned experts including Dr. V. Subhash Chandrabose, Water and Environmental Scientist; Dr. T.V. Sajeev, Chief Scientist at Peechi Forest Research Centre; V.M. Sadhikali, BBC Wildlife Magazine Award winner and environmental activist; and Rithu Gokul, a young scientist.
The congress will conclude on Wednesday.
